Purple is my ultimate happy colour, it keeps me grounded whilst adding a bit of energy to my otherwise introverted personality. It is hugely popular this Spring/Summer season, and every high street store has a selection of items to choose from.
So what's so special about Purple?
Purple is a mix of blue and red.
It is a combination of the power, energy and strength of red and stability of blue.
I'd say a lovely combo if you need a bit of balance in your life.
Positives:
The positives of the colour is related to spiritual awareness, composure and wisdom.
Purple can have a calming effect on the mind and nerves.
It is a colour we link to reflection hence widely favored by those following a spiritual path or meditation.
It has the ability to calm a chaotic mind and can restore balance and order. Much needed quality in the super fast lifestyles of ours.
Negatives:
Too much of purple and you can be seen as overly lost in your thoughts. But as with everything in life, too much and you can spoil it.
There are many tones of purple, warm - lilac, violet and aubergine. Cool – lavender mauve and royal purple. So there's a shade that would suit every skin tone and personality.
Ways to incorporate it into your wardrobe:
Purple looks amazing as a whole look, however I much prefer to colour block it or use it as an accent colour. That way you can reap all the benefits whilst not overdoing it, especially if you are new to the colour world and feel a little intimidated by it.
